Fifth Meeting of the HLG for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda

The Fifth meeting of the High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity Building for the 2030 Agenda (HLG) is being organized by the UN Statistics Division and hosted by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. Participants will: follow-up on the fourth meeting of the HLG that took place on 6 March 2016 at UN Headquarters in New York, US; and review and discuss the Global Action Plan for Data established by the HLG with the aim of providing both a long-term vision and short-term guidance on statistical capacity for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The meeting also seeks to further define next steps for the organization of the UN World Data Forum. The HLG was created during the 46th session of the UN Statistical Commission (UNSC) to provide strategic leadership on implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with regard to statistical monitoring and reporting; and to establish a global partnership for sustainable development data. It is composed of UN Member States, includes regional and international agencies as observers, and reports annually to the UNSC.
