The UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction – Regional Office for Africa (UNISDR AF), the African Union (AU), and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) will bring together African Governments, regional intergovernmental organizations, civil society representatives, members of academic institutions, local governments, private sector organizations, the media, and youth at the Fifth Africa Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in Abuja, Nigeria. The meeting is expected to result in an African position on a Post-2015 framework for disaster risk reduction (DRR) in the context of the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
