A festival to end plastic pollution will take place in Antigua and Barbuda as part of a global campaign, launched by UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Maria Fernanda Espinosa with the Governments of Norway and Antigua and Barbuda in December 2018.
The campaign focuses on phasing out the use of single-use plastics and raising awareness of the impact of plastic pollution on the environment and human health. The festival will include a concert that will highlight efforts to tackle plastic pollution globally and feature internationally renowned artists and musicians.
