Expert Workshop to Develop Recommendations for Possible Gender Elements in the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework

UN-Women, in partnership with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), with support from the Government of Canada and the CBD Friends of Gender Equality Group, will hold a two-day expert workshop to discuss substantive elements of a gender-responsive post-2020 global biodiversity framework. The workshop will seek to plan for the integration of gender issues in the post-2020 biodiversity framework by identifying various entry points for their integration, including through a review of selected Aichi Biodiversity Targets.

The outcomes of the workshop will serve as inputs to, inter alia, the post-2020 discussion paper being prepared by the CBD Secretariat, and subregional, regional and global consultations and other meetings of the Parties, which are expected to inform the post-2020 process, including the Trondheim Conference in July 2019.
