Expert Group Meeting on Navigating Policy and Data to Leave No One Behind

The UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) will hold this meeting for statisticians and national SDG focal points to propose recommendations for the upcoming high-level sixth session of the ESCAP's Committee on Statistics.

The Committee requested that its 6th session be held as a high-level session in order to galvanize whole-of-government commitment and support to fully realizing the regional ambition for advancing official statistics for the 2030 Agenda. This is in line with the governments' commitments to support national statistical systems in the Regional Roadmap for Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific.

The EGM aims to review the draft outcome document of the high-level sixth session, and will be informed by a first draft of a “key issues paper”.

The high-level sixth session will convene from 16-19 October 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand.
