The first phase of the preparatory process for the global compact for safe, orderly and regular migration will include preparatory meetings by the UN Regional Commissions. The UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) will organize a regional preparatory meeting in Beirut, Lebanon, from 26-28 September 2017.
