This workshop aims to increase awareness of the output-based aid (OBA) approach as a cost-efficient tool for subsidizing energy services for the poor. It will also serve as a platform for sharing experiences in implementing OBA programs around the world. Participants will be encouraged to implement and test innovative OBA approaches and recommend or offer ideas for future programs in the region. The targeted participants are government officials running energy access programs, managers of national and regional energy companies, investors and financiers of energy access projects, and development professionals focused on energy access. The workshop is being organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Energy for All Program.
