The second Dialogue in the UN Environment Management Group (EMG) Nexus Dialogue Series 2018 will convene under the theme ‘Greening with Jobs: A Just Transition to Sustainability.’ The event aims to, inter alia, contribute to a common understanding of the concept of just transition, and establish a global platform to share national and international experiences in the practical application of greening with jobs and just transition in national context.
The Dialogue will explore the concept of just transitions within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and identify the interlinkages among the SDGs and associated targets related to the topic, including between SDG 13 (climate action), SDG 12 (responsible consumption and production) and SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth).
The event is organized in cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO) Green Initiative.
Launched in April 2017, in Geneva, the Nexus Dialogue Series brings UN agencies and other stakeholders closer together in identifying further synergies and partnerships at the intersection of the different SDGs from an environmental perspective. The first Dialogue of the 2018 series considered the theme, the theme, ‘Biodiversity Mainstreaming in the Context of Human Security and Wellbeing.’
