1-2 September 2023 Nairobi, Kenya
Eleventh Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-XI)

The Eleventh Conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-XI), held on the theme, ‘Driving Green Growth and Climate Finance Solutions for Africa and the World,’ will focus on Africa in solidarity for global climate action. The CCDA will convene as the technical segment of the Africa Climate Summit (ACS) and will feature expert group discussions on the theme.

The Conference will propose outcome statements to inform the ACS and contribute to the recommendations for the ACS declarations. The CCDA will culminate in a report from the expert segment with formal statements for input into the ACS and will contribute to the Africa common position at the 2023 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 28).

Climate for Development in Africa (ClimDev-Africa) will host the annual event with Kenya – the host country of this year’s Conference. ClimDev-Africa is a consortium of key African development institutions, including the African Union Commission (AUC), African Development Bank (AfDB), UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), and Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance (PACJA).
