Eleventh Clean Energy Ministerial and Fifth Mission Innovation Ministerial

The Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) is a high-level global forum to promote policies and programs that advance clean energy technology, to share lessons learned and best practices, and to encourage the transition to a global clean energy economy. Initiatives are based on areas of common interest among participating governments and other stakeholders.

The 2020 Clean Energy Ministerial and Mission Innovation Ministerial (CEM11/MI-5) meetings were scheduled to take place in Viña del Mar, Chile, from 2-4 June 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the meetings have been postponed.

The CEM/MI meetings provide fora to foster collaboration and drive concrete action to support members' efforts to achieve their commitments and goals. As Mission Innovation reaches the end of its first 5-year mandate, Ministers at the fifth meeting of the Mission Innovation Ministerial (MI-5) will consider the future of the initiative, with a view to launching a second phase at UNFCCC COP 26
