The Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) is an initiative of the Government of Japan. The first conference took place in 1993.

TICAD8 will convene in Tunisia, from 27-28 August 2022. It is co-hosted by the UN, UN Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank, and African Union Commission (AUC).
