The 8th Meeting of the Council of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) will take place from 3-4 November, in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sessions organized as part of the meeting will include: the Director-General's report on implementation of the Agency's 2014-2015 work program and budget; and discussions on the outcomes on the 2014 UN Climate Summit, and renewable energy and energy transformation, including in relation to IRENA's 'REthinking Energy' flagship publication. Participants at the Council Meeting will include representatives from the 21 Council member States and delegations from other IRENA member States. Prior to the Council meeting, the meetings of IRENA's Programme and Strategy Committee (PSC) and Administration and Finance Committee (AFC) will be held, on 2 November. The IRENA Council facilitates consultations and cooperation among the Agency's members and considers the draft work program and budget, and the annual report. Two committees, the PSC and AFC, assist the Council in its work.
