Eighth African Development Forum

The eighth African Development Forum (ADF) is being held under the theme “Governing and Harnessing Natural Resources for Africa's Development”. The ADF will provide a forum for the presentation of the latest research results, opinions and developments within the following six areas: knowledge base, human and institutional capacities; policy, legal and regulatory issues; economic issues; governance, human rights and social issues; participation and ownership of natural resources; and environmental, material stewardship and climate change. The ADF is an biennial event of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA). It was created in 1999 and is a multi-stakeholder platform for debating, discussing and initiating concrete strategies for Africa's development. It is convened in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Development Bank (AfDB), and other partners.
