EGM for Global Sustainable Development Report: Engaging National Assessments

The Expert Group Meeting (EGM) for the Global Sustainable Development Report: Engaging National Assessments is one of a series of EGMs designed to support the preparation and review of the Global Sustainable Development Report. This EGM will discuss a prototype of the Global Sustainable Development Report, including recommendations for strengthening the science-policy interface. The EGM also will discuss processes for future Global Sustainable Development Reports, including scope, methodology and frameworks for involving national processes in report preparation. The EGM is expected to provide inputs to the UN Secretary-General's report on options for future reports, including recommendations on a national reporting framework and specific institutional suggestions, such as a board for the Global Sustainable Development Report, a global network of national institutions or special advisory group. The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and China's Ministry of Science and Technology are organizing the EGM.
