E-discussion on Water for Food

An e-discussion on Water for Food is taking place on the World We Want 2015 platform, from 4-11 February 2013. Its objective is to explore options and strategies for transforming agricultural systems into “water smart systems” that use less water to produce more food and reduce the impact on the environment, while increasing integration among sectors. Viewers are invited to comment, discuss and debate key questions on this topic through the online platform. This e-discussion is part of the Water Resources Sub-Consultation, which aims to discuss where and how water resources management should be incorporated into a post-2015 development agenda. The Water Resources Sub-Consultation is one of three sub-consultations that are part of the Global Thematic Consultation on Water, which is co-led by UN-Water, the UN Department for Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and supported by the Governments of the Netherlands and Switzerland.
