E-discussion on the 2015 ECOSOC Theme

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) are organizing an e-discussion on the UN Economic and Social Council's (ECOSOC) 2015 theme, ‘Managing the transition from the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): What will it take'. The e-discussion aims to provide ECOSOC with concrete proposals for defining next steps in transitioning from the MDGs to the SDGs. It will focus on four thematic areas: policy choices and mindset change for an integrated agenda; adaptation by institutions, structures and individuals; partnerships for the implementation of the SDGs and post-2015 agenda; and monitoring and review. Contributions will be posted on ECOSOC's website and included in a summary report prepared by DESA and UNDP, which is then expected to serve as an input into the UN Secretary-General's report on the ECOSOC theme.
