E-discussion on Global Citizenship, Jobs and Skills

The UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) and UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the co-leaders of the Global Thematic Consultation on Education in the post-2015 development agenda, are hosting an e-discussion on Global Citizenship, Jobs and Skills from 23 January-6 February. The e-discussion, taking place on the World We Want 2015 platform, invites participants to respond to a set of four questions on: interventions, policies and strategies to impart skills development, provide education and address the interconnection between education and skills; key challenges caused by a lack of skills training for youth and inadequate learning for global citizenship; learning required to prepare children and youth to participate in a local and global economy and in democracy; and how technology can improve global citizenship and access to jobs and skills development. The discussion is moderated by: Jean D'Cunha, UN Women; Lily Talapessy, the UN Population Fund (UNFPA); Steve Vosloo and Katerina Ananiadou, UNESCO; Kjersti Mowe, Global Campaign for Education; and Will Paxton, Save the Children. This e-discussion is one of four thematic e-discussions as part of the Global Thematic Consultation on Education.
