The UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), CARI Association (France) and SPONG (Burkina Faso) are co-organizing Désertif’actions 2019, an international civil society summit on land, biodiversity and climate. Through a series of plenary sessions and four themed workshops, the event will address, inter alia: the Great Green Wall for Sahara and the Sahel Initiative (GGWSSI); land tenure and land degradation neutrality (LDN); pastoralism; and water use in drylands.
The first three days of the summit, from 19-21 June, dedicated to debate, exchange of experiences and collective knowledge production, will be followed by a public day of “cultural manifestation and awareness” on 22 June.
