The UN Climate Change secretariat is accepting applications for the 2018 Momentum for Change Awards to showcase action and ambition as national governments implement the Paris Agreement and deliver on the SDGs. Selected initiatives, called ‘Lighthouse Activities,’ shine a light on innovative, scalable and replicable examples of what people are doing to address climate change. They will be recognized at special events during the UN Climate Change Conference in Katowice, Poland (COP 24), in December 2018.

The 2018 Momentum for Change Lighthouse Activities will recognize climate action in four key areas: Women for Results; Financing for Climate Friendly Investment; Planetary Health; and Climate Neutral Now.

Applications are invited from organizations, cities, businesses, governments and other key players that are taking concrete action on climate change, through the application portal, by 30 April 2018.
