DCF Belgium High-level Symposium: Rethinking Development Cooperation for the SDGs

The Belgium High-Level Symposium in preparation for the 2016 Development Cooperation Forum (DCF) will focus on making development cooperation a better fit for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the least developed countries (LDCs) and vulnerable contexts, and adapting development cooperation institutions for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. It will take on the question, “How will development cooperation actors gear their operations towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and realize the commitments made in the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA) on financing for development?” The Symposium will include country cases and produce concrete policy guidance on development cooperation in the context of the 2030 Agenda. The deliberations of the Forum will feed into the preparations for the 2016 high-level meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) DCF, which will take place from 21-22 July 2016, in New York, US. The DCF is a platform for global policy dialogue on development cooperation, and has the mandate to review trends and progress in that regard.
