Hosted by the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, the Cookstoves Future Summit will seek to secure financial commitments for the Alliance and the broader clean cooking sector by bringing together high-level leaders from donor and implementing governments, UN agencies and international organizations to celebrate progress in the adoption of clean cooking solutions and stimulate further efforts in the area. The event will be co-chaired by former US Secretary of State and the Alliance's Leadership Council Honorary Chair Hillary Clinton, together with high-level government officials from the UK, Norway, Ghana and the US. Expected outcomes of the meeting include commitments from governments, corporations, foundations, investors and other actors to mobilize the clean cooking sector and advance cost-effective market-based policies and programmes to reduce the use of traditional cookstoves. During the event, the Alliance will also launch the final roadmap for its second phase.
