This meeting, titled 'Consultative Workshop on Measuring Progress in Post-2015 Development Framework: Environmental Performance Indicators and Environmental Welfare Indicators' is organized by the UN Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD) as the first step in the 'Study on Measuring Sustainability in 3 Dimensions: Society, Economy and Environment (SEE)'. The consultation will bring together around 30 policy makers, in particular government officials from developing countries whose work relates to sustainable development, to discuss how a diagnostic system and indicators may be developed to measure urban sustainability. Panel discussions will take place on the first day, led by UNOSD, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Korea Economic Institute (KEI). On the second day, the City of Incheon will host a discussion and field visit on sustainable cities and the “smart city” as a solution for urban development.
