Conference on Land Policy in Africa

The inaugural Conference on Land Policy in Africa, co-hosted by the Land Policy Initiative (LPI) and the Forum on Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), will convene under the theme 'The next Decade of Land Policy in Africa: Ensuring Agricultural Development and Inclusive Growth,' in support of the 2014 African Union (AU) Year of Agriculture and Food Security. The conference, which will be held biennially, aims to create a continental land policy platform for presenting research and drawing stakeholder attention to the issues and status of land policy in Africa. The conference will include plenary and parallel sessions, side events, panel discussions and exhibitions, and will focus on six sub-themes: inclusive agricultural growth; land governance frameworks; women's land rights; land rights under different tenure regimes; experiences and best practices in land policies; and land administration.
