This Special High-level Meeting of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will mark its 70th anniversary by bringing together key figures and stakeholders from ECOSOC's past and present. It will draw on experience and major milestones in ECOSOC's history and will look ahead to how the Council can most effectively fulfil its mandates and functions in support of implementation, follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Commemoration will invite current and former Bureau Members of the Council, as well as sustainable development experts, to engage in panel discussions and dialogue with Member States, civil society and other stakeholders.
