Colloquium on Seasonal Forecasting: Current Challenges and Potential Benefits for Decision Making in the Water Sector

This colloquium aims to demonstrate the current state of seasonal forecasting, and will lay the groundwork and contribute to the development of guidelines for operational
 applications within the framework of the World Meteorological Organization's (WMO) Commission for Hydrology. Colloquium participants and presenters will include representatives of scientific organizations, water authorities, and national hydrological and meteorological services (NHMSs). In addition, operational water management bodies will provide an overview about the current skills and developments of meteorological seasonal forecasts, statistical methods in pre- and post-processing, and hydrology applications.
The colloquium is targeted towards the scientific community, water authorities, NHMSs, potential users in the water sector and engineers, and is being hosted by the German Federal Institute of Hydrology –Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde (BfG), the WMO and the IHP/HWRP Germany Secretariat.
