The Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is convening this Regional Workshop to 'Facilitate the Description of Ecologically or Biologically Significant Marine Areas (EBSAs) in the North-West Indian Ocean and Adjacent Gulf Areas'. The workshop will be hosted by the Ministry of Environment and Water of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and is being convened in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) Regional Office West Asia (ROWA) and the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) Office – Abu Dhabi, among others.
