Business Fights Poverty Gender Summit

The Business Fights Poverty Gender Summit will explore the latest thinking on business action on gender-based violence, so that companies can help their colleagues and others stay safe. It will also examine the emerging opportunities in gender-smart investing, so that organizations across sectors can get ahead and be a part of the future.

The Summit is part of the “Business Fights Poverty Virtual Summit Series” and this edition is focused on gender. It is timed to coincide with the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign. The Summit is organized by Business Fights Poverty, in partnership with CDC Group, The 2X Challenge, UN Women and CARE International.

Sessions will focus on:

  • the actions companies can take in response to the increase in gender-based violence witnessed during the COVID-19 pandemic, including in the workplace;
  • the role of new international regulation in the form of the ILO’s Violence and Harassment Convention (C190);
  • strengthening women’s economic empowerment; and
  • gender-lens investing.
