St. Maarten and nearby islands have started rebuilding after the destruction brought by hurricanes Irma and Maria, but an unprecedented complexity of knowledge flows must be addressed in order for these communities to Build Back Better (BBB).

To respond to this challenge and to help St. Maarten, the Centre of Excellence (COE) for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Development States – a UNDP initiative based on Aruba – and EY – are launching a “Do Tank”, or action-oriented Think Tank, and Present Your Startup Caribbean is organizing a “Do Trade” trade mission from the Netherlands to the Caribbean.

The objective of these events is to help identify solutions and catalyze actions that will help St. Maarten build back better while also revealing insights that can help islands around the world to become more resilient. The Do Tank will take place from 16-18 March. The Do Trade trade mission will take place from 19-20 March.
