Broadband Commission Working Group Meetings

The Broadband Commission Working Group on Digital Health and the Working Group on Digital Gender Divide will meet on the sidelines of the 71st UN General Assembly's (UNGA). The Working Group on Digital Health, co-chaired by Novartis Foundation and Nokia, is tasked with identifying countries that have successfully integrated health information systems, information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, and health ICT applications to showcase best practices and tools for other countries. The Working Group on Digital Gender Divide, co-chaired by GSMA and the UN Educational and Scientific Organization (UNESCO), is working to develop a set of recommendations to address the digital gender divide and foster the inclusion of women and girls in broadband access and use. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and UNESCO launched the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development in 2015 to highlight the power of information and communications technology (ICT) and broadband-based technologies for sustainable development.
