The biodiversity_next conference will bring together international organizations, research scientists and policy makers to jointly identify socio-technical bottlenecks and horizon-scan opportunities around data-intensive biodiversity and geodiversity research.

The conference aims to: promote innovation in biodiversity and geodiversity information science and applications; share and enhance community data standards and information management practices; improve domain reach to new audiences; inspire new generations to embark on data-intensive science around biodiversity and geodiversity; and build community consensus on pivotal technical and sociocultural aspects of the community practices.

The conference is organized by Biodiversity Information Standards TDWG, Global Biodiversity Information Facility, Distributed System of Scientific Collections, Consortium of European Taxonomic Facilities and Integrated Digitized Biocollections.
