Behavior Change for Energy Efficiency Scoping Workshop: Opportunities for International Cooperation in the G20 and Beyond

Hosted by the Argentinian Ministry of Energy (MEN), the International Partnership for Energy Efficiency Cooperation (IPEEC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA), this workshop will bring together representatives of G20 countries and IEA and IPEEC members as well as other international organizations, research organizations, and advocacy groups to consider how behavioral sciences can improve the effectiveness of energy efficiency policies.

Participants will discuss, among other issues: how to strengthen traditional energy efficiency policies, such as standards and labeling schemes, and what new interventions can be developed by applying behavioral science to energy efficiency; the particular opportunities and challenges faced in encouraging behavior change across sectors and in different country contexts; and possible topics for future collaboration as well as potential mechanisms and resources for collaboration, including the Task Groups under the G20 Energy Efficiency Leading Programme.
