Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit

Hosted by the Government of Brunei Darussalam and co-organized by the Australian Government and the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) of the CGIAR Consortium, this meeting will bring together governments, the private sector, practitioners and researchers to exchange knowledge and highlight leading practices to slow, halt and reverse deforestation in the Asia-Pacific region. More specifically it will focus on action related to sustainably managing forests and landscapes, reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, and promoting economic development in the region. Discussions will be based around the following themes: innovative forest-climate financing; the role of the private sector and new opportunities for public-private-people partnerships; measurement, reporting and verification for sustainable landscape management and REDD+; policy and governance issues in countries and across the region; and green economies for a bright future.
