16-18 May 2015 Bangkok (Krung Thep), Thailand
Asia-Pacific Civil Society Forum on Sustainable Development

Jointly organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the Asia-Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) and other civil society organizations, this Forum will serve as a preparatory meeting for key regional events organized in relation to the post-2015 development agenda, such as the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development taking place on 21-22 May 2015, also in Bangkok.

The Civil Society Forum seeks to: inform and build the capacity of civil society participants to engage in sustainable development processes at global and regional levels; influence decision-making processes by preparing strategies for engaging in upcoming regional events; agree on joint actions and follow-up to civil society positions adopted; strengthen the outreach and effectiveness of Asia-Pacific civil society organization (CSO) engagement mechanisms; and elect two alternate UNEP Asia-Pacific CSO representatives. Online consultations to inform background materials for the Forum are taking place on topics such as: translating general development goals to practical policies at home; development justice; and civil society's views on the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA).

These online consultations are available at: https://www.worldwewant2015.org/node/470371.
