The African Partnership Forum (APF) special session on climate change, which is scheduled for 3 September 2009, in Addis Ababa, will focus on Africa’s concerns and expectations in the negotiations on a new post-Kyoto agreement on climate change. The meeting is organized by the African Union (AU) Commission, the NEPAD Secretariat, the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD). The objective of the special session is to mobilize a broad support for Africa’s position on climate change to ensure that its concerns are reflected in the outcomes of the fifteenth Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP15 UNFCCC), taking place in December in Copenhagen.
