Africa Climate Talks: East/Southern Africa, and Indian Ocean SIDS

Under the theme, 'Democratizing Global Climate Change Governance and Building an African Consensus toward COP 21 and Beyond,' the Africa Climate Talks (ACT!) are being organized by the Climate for Development in Africa (ClimDev-Africa) Programme. This series of interconnected sub-regional and Africa-wide events will contribute to Africa's preparation for the 21st session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the UNFCCC, engaging Africans from all walks of life. ACT! aims to raise public awareness of climate change, hear perspectives of linkages between climate change issues and Africa's development, and consider the potential implications of COP 21 outcomes for Africa. ACT! for the East and Southern Africa regions and the Indian Ocean small island developing States (SIDS) will take place in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, on 3-5 September 2015. ClimDev-Africa is a joint Programme of the African Union Commission (AUC), the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
