The Commonwealth Secretariat, in partnership with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), the Indian Ocean Commission (COI), and the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environmental Programme (SPREP), is organizing this high-level panel discussion on the sidelines of the UN Conference for Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20). The event aims to highlight the sustainable development concerns of small island developing States (SIDS). The event will also see the launch of a joint initiative to explore new ways to support climate resilient and low carbon economies, across the three sub-regions, through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU).
