The Ministerial roundtable, ‘Accelerating achievement of the SDGs by 2030: Addressing on-going crises and overcoming challenges,’ taking place during the 2022 session of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), will bring together ministers to present various perspectives and experiences and engage in a dialogue on what steps can be taken to address the new and emerging crises and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and the impacts of the conflicts in Ukraine and elsewhere.
The meeting will connect the theme of building back better from COVID-19 with the new and emerging crises and challenges the world is currently experiencing. It will also focus on advancing the changes needed in the immediate term to address the emerging issues and rescue and advance the SDGs in the lead up to the SDG Summit in September 2023. The outcome of the roundtable will be reflected in a summary by the President of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), which will be included in the President’s summary of HLPF 2022.
