24-28 February 2014 Hanoi, Ha Noi, Viet Nam
7th Global FRIEND-Water Conference

The Flow Regime from International Experimental and Network Data (FRIEND)-Water Conference 2014 will focus on the theme “Hydrology in a Changing World: Environmental and Human Dimensions.” FRIEND-Water aims to facilitate understanding about how climate, human and river basin factors influence the spatial and temporal distribution of water. The 2014 conference will share knowledge on changes in hydrological processes and their impacts, including ecological flows, erosion and sedimentation, and will discuss how to develop adaptable water management and water policies to account for these impacts. The conference will focus on six topics: hydrological databases; trends in hydrological regimes and extremes; changes in ecological flows and coastal ecohydrology; erosion and sediment transport processes and trends; regional observational-hydrological modeling frameworks; and water resources and prospective scenarios. The conference is co-organized by, inter alia: the International Hydrological Programme of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO-IHP); the German IHP Hydrological Committee; the UNESCO Regional Science Bureau for Asia and the Pacific; and the UNESCO Office Hanoi.
