The UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Committee on Forests and the Forest Industry (COFFI) will consider the 'Rovaniemi Action Plan for the Forest Sector in a Green Economy,' which consists of five pillars: sustainable production and consumption of forest products, a low carbon forest sector, decent green jobs in the forest sector, long term provision of forest ecosystem services, and policy development and monitoring of the forest sector in relation to a green economy. The workshop will also address forest resources assessment and reporting issues and develop guidance on implementation of the UNECE/ Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) Integrated Programme of Work.
