53rd Meeting of the GEF Council

The 53rd meeting of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Council will take place from 28-30 November 2017, in Washington, DC. Agenda items will include the Work Program, the policies on Gender Equality and Stakeholder Engagement, the organization of the Sixth GEF Assembly, and the Vision to Enhance Civil Society Engagement with the GEF. Delegates will convene as the 23rd meeting of the Council for the Least Developed Countries Fund and the Special Climate Change Fund (LDCF/SCCF) on 30 November 2017.

The Council meeting will be preceded by a consultation with civil society organizations (CSOs) on Monday, 27 November 2017. This one-day discussion will consider, inter alia: programming directions for the seventh replenishment of the GEF (GEF-7); a proposed Updated Vision to enhance civil society engagement with the GEF; and updated GEF policies on Gender Equality and on Stakeholder Engagement in GEF projects and processes.
