50th Session of UN Statistical Commission

The UN Statistical Commission will hold its 50th session on the theme, 'Better data, better lives'.

The UNSC brings together Chief Statisticians from UN Member States, and is the highest decision-making body for international statistical activities. The Commission consists of 24 member countries of the UN elected by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) on the basis of an equitable geographical distribution.

During the 50th session, the discussion on data and indicators for the 2030 Agenda will include consideration of the Report of the Inter-agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators (IAEG-SDGs) (E/CN.3/2019/2), the Report of the Secretary-General on the work for the review of progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (E/CN.3/2019/3), and the Report of the High-level Group for Partnership, Coordination and Capacity-Building for Statistics for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (E/CN.3/2019/4).
