49th Session of the Commission on Population and Development

The 49th session of the Commission on Population and Development will consider, inter alia, actions for the further implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, the Report of the Secretary-General on strengthening the demographic evidence base for the post-2015 development agenda, the Report of the Secretary-General on the monitoring of population
programmes, focusing on strengthening the demographic evidence base for the post-2015 development agenda, and the Report of the Secretary-General on the flow of financial resources for assisting in the further implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development. A general debate will address the theme, “Strengthening the demographic evidence base for the post-2015 development agenda” and a general debate will consider the contribution of population and development issues to the Economic and Social Council theme in 2016, on “Implementing the post-2015 development agenda: moving from commitments to results”.
