The 39th session of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will meet under the theme ‘Inclusive investment – Rural people, state and business in the post-2015 agenda'. The meeting has on its agenda, inter alia: the election of the Governing Council's Bureau; a statement of IFAD's President and general statements; the report of the Tenth Replenishment of IFAD's Resources; consolidated financial statements of IFAD for 2014; IFAD's 2016 results-based programme of work and regular and capital budgets, the Independent Office of Evaluation of IFAD's results-based work programme and budget for 2016 and indicative plan for 2017-2018; the Global Mechanism of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD); emoluments of the President; and an update on the Ad Hoc Working Group on Governance. The IFAD Governing Council, which meets annually, is the Fund's principal Governing Body.
