37th Session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean

The thirty-seventh session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will be held in Havana, from 7-11 May 2018.

Following a number of panel discussions on 7 May, the opening ceremony on 8 May will celebrate the 70th anniversary of ECLAC. Among other sessions, participants will be briefed on the Regional Agreement on Access to Information, Participation and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters in Latin America and the Caribbean and preparations for the Second High Level UN Conference on South-South Cooperation. Discussions will also focus on the ECLAC position document titled, 'The Inefficiency of Inequality'. On the final day, statements by ministers of foreign affairs and high-level authorities will address the global and regional challenges of multilateralism, the role of ECLAC and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
