The 35th Meeting of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) Scientific Committee will convene concurrently with the 35th Meeting of the CCAMLR Commission to discuss the conservation of Antarctic marine life. The Scientific Committee will convene from 17-21 October. The Commission meeting will take place from 17-28 October. The Scientific Committee and its subsidiary groups are the main avenue for scientific advice in CCAMLR, with the Convention requiring the Commission to take full account of the Scientific Committee's recommendations and advice. The Commission serves as CCAMLR's main decision-making body. Mark Belchier, United Kingdom, will serve as the Chair of the Scientific Committee Meeting and Dmitry Gonchar, the Russian Federation, will chair the Commission Meeting.
