This meeting will discuss substantive preparations of the Asia Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) 2016 to be held in New Delhi, India, from 14-17 November 2016. The meeting will also provide an opportunity to discuss issues related to implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) at the regional, national and local levels. The ISDR Asia Partnership (IAP) aims to, inter alia, support the political leadership of the regional platform through the ministerial conferences, and improve regional coordination and coherence through experience sharing. IAP members have stressed the need for transforming the IAP to support implementation of the Sendai Framework. The meeting is being organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction – Regional Office for Asia and Pacific (UNISDR AP).
