2nd Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS) and Technical Workshops

The 2nd Asia Pacific Water Summit (APWS) will convene in Chang Mai, Thailand, on the theme “Water Security and Water-Related Disaster Challenges: Leadership and Commitment”. It will take place from 19-20 May, back-to-back with the Technical Workshops and Exhibitions, from 16-20 May. It is organized by the Thai Government in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Water Forum. The Summit aims to promote dialogue and facilitate regional cooperation on water security in Asia and the Pacific, with the participation of public and private sectors, technical experts, academics, and civil society groups. The Office of the Water and Flood Management Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand are leading preparations, together with partners including the Global Water Partnership of the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia (ESCAP), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Network of Asian River Basin Organizations (NARBO).
