The 20th Meeting of the Leaders' Representatives of the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate (MEF) will take place on 21 September in New York, US.

The event, which will mark the first-ever MEF foreign ministers' meeting, will be hosted by US Secretary of State John Kerry. It will seek to build political will and a sense of common cause to address climate change as a foreign policy priority. Secretary Kerry will seek to encourage participating countries to explore fresh ideas to capture climate co-benefits, and come forward with robust climate targets in 2015 in order to help reach an ambitious international agreement.
