The 2016 High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS aims to focus the world's attention on the importance of a Fast-Track approach to AIDS response over the next five years to achieve 2020 targets on new infections, deaths from AIDS and elimination of HIV-related discrimination. The event will also address the opportunities for achieving HIV and AIDS related targets under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Developments and its related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event will bring together UN leaders, including UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and President of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) Mogens Lykketoft, ministers, senior officials, the private sector, civil society, people living with HIV and other stakeholders.
