2011 First International Electric Vehicle Pilot City and Industry Development Forum: Better Electric Vehicles, Better City Life

Organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST), IEA and Shanghai Municipal Government, this event will act as one of the initial phases of the realization of the Electric Vehicles Initiative (EVI) proposed jointly by China and the US at the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) held in Washington DC, US, on 19-20 July 2010. The second Advanced Vehicle Leadership Forum (AVLF), organized by IEA and MOST will also take place in conjunction with the EVI meeting. Topics for the EVI Forum will include: government strategy; policy and regulation, including coordinating urban/national planning; targets and best practices; Public-Private Partnerships (PPP); industry-university-research institute collaboration; emerging new business models in demonstration and deployment; markets and investment; financing; infrastructure including building recharging facilities; data collection; technology coordination and technical standards. In-depth technical discussions on batteries and motors are also scheduled.
